Bottom of the Jar Review: First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser

This is a bottom of the jar review — I used every last bit of this product before giving my honest opinion.

What Is It?

The First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser is a gentle thick cream cleanser designed for irritated and sensitive skin (but really, anyone can use it). It comes in a variety of sizes: a little 2 oz for travel, the 5 oz tube ($24), an 8 oz, and even an 11 oz with a pump. I love that there are so many size options.

Note: This was originally gifted to me by First Aid Beauty, but I've purchased it several times since — and it's what my children are using too.

The Packaging

Comes in a plastic tube for the standard sizes, with a pump on the 11 oz. Functional and easy to use.

How It Performs

The cleanser is a thick cream with a texture that reminds me of old-school Noxzema — minus all the crazy stuff Noxzema had. It's hard to describe, but if you remember that thick cream feel, this is similar:

  • Takes off makeup really nicely — no struggle
  • Doesn't sting the eyes — gentle around the eye area
  • Leaves skin clean but not tight or stripped — that's the magic
  • Skin feels moisturized after — not the typical post-cleanser dryness
  • Gentle enough for kids — my children use it too

Key Ingredients

The formula contains aloe and glycerin to soothe and hydrate while it cleanses, plus an antioxidant booster to help protect against environmental aggressors.

Who Is This For?

Pretty much anyone. It's especially great for sensitive or irritated skin, but it works for normal and dry skin too. If you've been using a foaming cleanser that leaves your skin tight and stripped, this is a wonderful switch.

The Verdict

I give the First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser a 10 out of 10. It's gentle, takes makeup off no problem, doesn't sting my eyes, and leaves my skin feeling moisturized. I've repurchased it multiple times and it's a family favorite — my kids use it too.
