SkinBetter Science AlphaRet Overnight Cream

This is a bottom of the jar review — I used every last bit of this product before giving my honest opinion.

The SkinBetter Science AlphaRet Overnight Cream is a luxury combination retinoid + AHA night cream. The smallest size is 1 ounce for $145, and the larger 1.7 oz is $205. I was using the 0.5 oz sample size that the company gifted me. Yes — even the smallest retail size is double what I had.

It comes in hard plastic packaging with a twist pump — these are so secure and great for travel. No mess. The navy blue and rose gold color combo is unique and really cute.

The product is a cream that absorbs nicely into the skin. Here's what I found:

• Combination product — replaces both your retinoid AND your AHA in one step
• Minimizes routine steps — I love products that simplify
• Plays well with other skincare — no pilling
• Surprisingly tolerable — even with both a retinoid and AHA, I had no significant irritation or peeling
• Great for sensitive retinoid users — sounds aggressive but isn't

The patented AlphaRet Technology combines a retinoid with an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) for skin rejuvenation with little-to-no irritation.

The price is just painful. $145 for 1 oz. $205 for 1.7 oz. There's no getting around it — this is luxury pricing. But you are getting two actives in one product, so it does replace two separate purchases.

• Wants to simplify their routine with a combination product
• Has been sensitive to retinoids in the past and needs a gentler option
• Has the budget for luxury medical-grade skincare
• Wants a true anti-aging workhorse

I give the SkinBetter Science AlphaRet Overnight Cream a 10 out of 10. I hate to say this because it's so expensive, but this product is great. I love the combination format, the lack of irritation, the packaging, and how nicely it plays with everything else. Just be ready for the price tag.
